An hour away from the Las Vegas strip the El Dorado Canyon Gold Mine is in a time warp. Step back into a time when the old west was all about gaining the riches and having them stolen from you. The tour is informative and appropriate for the entire family. The drive to the tiny town of Nelson is quick and informative and you get a view of the Southern Nevada desert from the air conditioned comfort of the Pink Jeep Tour vehicles.
The best way to see the area is with a guided tour as the local knowledge gives you so much more than driving there yourself. Pink Jeep Tours offers excursions to the El Dorado Canyon and you learn so much about the gold mine but far more about Las Vegas history, the fauna of the southwest and the culture of this very interesting area.
See Some Pictures of the El Dorado Canyon Mine Tour
Pink Jeep Tours also has tours to the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Red Rock and plenty of other fascinating natural wonders near the Las Vegas strip. See a list of other tours by Pink Jeep Tours in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas is one of those places where you might feel a little guilty for bringing the kids along , but at some point in your life you realize that if you want a vacation the kids have to be included as well. There are some options for Kids in Las Vegas so pack up and get ready to go. With plenty of attractions, pools and arcades it is possible to have a family vacation in a city that is designed for the hedonistic behaviors of adults. All it takes is a little planning and a sense of what you want from your Las Vegas vacation with kids.
Here are some resources to help you get started:
Las Vegas can be appropriate with children as long as you realize that it’s really not a good idea to go cruising the Las Vegas strip with your kid in a stroller. I see people do it all the time and I can’t believe that some parents do it. Spend some time at the family attractions and leave the late night walks to the people who are not towing children along and can afford to stumble along down the sidewalk.

For $99 you can feel like an extreme base jumper and leap off the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. You ‘ll be slowed down by a harness and some cables, you’ll get a souvenir photo and then you’ll tell every one at the bar about how you would have done it without the cables if they allowed it.
Go ahead, jump, already!

Often I find myself stressed, tense and generally feeling irritable, yeah, how is it possible since I spend all my time drinking, eating and generally behaving like a guy who has an iron clad liver and no tolerance for fatigue? Well, it happens, research gets the better of me and soon I need a little relaxation. I will often look for a pool where I can doze off while the sun bakes my extremities.
The alternative is spending a little time in a Spa and the concept of induced relaxation. As fall approaches I decided to endure a Pumpkin Enzyme Peel facial treatment at Vdara Spa. First off, Elena, the therapist who worked on me was splendid and even though she brought a little pain my way she more than made up for it with some soothing hands and an array of refreshing products placed upon my skin.
Sixty minutes of soothing cremes, gentle facing massaging, a few extractions and then some hand, feet and neck rubbing and you can imagine I was ready to call it a day. I dozed off as she worked the pumpkin enzymes into every pore on my face. Her fingers slowly worked their way across my forehead, down to my cheeks and along my chin. With each gentle rub I could feel the soothing sensation of stress slowly drifting away.
You know it’s never enough time, near the end of the treatment all I could think of was, “please don’t make this end, please, please!” But it ended and I walked over to the meditation room with some water and I thought I would sit around for awhile. Forty five minutes later I looked around and everything was just as quiet as before. I found relaxation and then it would not let me leave.

It’s safe to say I have a love affair with food, very much in the same way that I have a love affair with travel and a well made cocktail. So the thought of me getting super excited about a dish is not new, it happens all the time, but when I really go nuts about something I freak myself out.
I have a favorite Italian deli that I frequent in Los Angeles, it’s very much a neighborhood place, albeit in a gentrified neighborhood a stones throw from the skyscrapers. The walls have pictures of Frank, Sammy and Dean as well as the “Parking for Italians Only” sign and they serve sandwiches and pasta. Very real Italian, no frills, no extras, you get what you get and it’s good. It’s the home to my favorite meatball sandwich, it’s a staple in my life, like Hawaiian poke, Cuban Masas de Puerco and Tom Yum Ka. I thought nothing could supplant its place in my pedestal of food, that is until I tasted the meatball at Martorano’s at the Rio Las Vegas.
The meatball is a masterpiece of simplicity, roll up some ground meat in a ball and bake, well, it’s that, but it is really so much more. There’s the extra cheese that coats the ball and the sauce that lovingly lubricates every extra ounce of tasty fat. Don’t fool yourself, this is not health conscious food and there is such a thing as “good fat.”
While you are there, try the Rigatoni with Sunday Pork and the Eggplant Stack and enjoy the South Philly atmosphere.

Planning on spending Thanksgiving in Las Vegas? Perfect, no cooking, no cleaning and a four day weekend to have the time of your life! Las Vegas Hotel rates are lower than I have seen them in years and you stand to benefit.
The Holiday season starts off at Thanksgiving and goes right through New Years day. Soon the Christmas trees will go up along the Las Vegas strip and the crisp temperatures will make it feel like winter. Not real winter, Las Vegas winter, where the action is still very hot! So, plan your Thanksgiving meal, evening, and entertainment right now.
With so much to be thankful for how will you do it again on day two?

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I despise shaving. The truth is I am not a fan of haircuts either, so it would make sense that I would look to a professional to do it right however at The Art of Shaving at Mandalay Place I am transformed. I’m an average guy, who just happens to not enjoy the simple things like personal grooming. Don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with a shower and a quick brush through the hair, but if you try to get some kind of “product” in my hair I’m going to protest.
Sue Russel, Master Barber at the Art of Shaving, is an artist. I leave there and I can’t believe how good I look. I stop in for a quick drink at Minus 5 and the women are checking me out and ask if I want to take a picture with them. I walk over to the sports book and the guys are taking an extra glance my way.
Treat yourself to the best shave of your life with a simple four step process. Prepare, lather up, shave and moisturize. When they are done with you, you will not believe how good your skin can feel.
